Job Title: Community Coordinator
Place of employment: Bourem
Starting date: June 2018.
Type of Contract: Malian law service contract.
Duration of the contract: 7 months renewable.
The Malian Association for Survival in the Sahel ( AMSS ) is a national non-governmental organization that promotes and supports sustainable solutions to the problems of vulnerable people in northern Mali. Since 2012, she has been developing numerous projects and assistance programs for populations affected by conflicts through actions including food security, economic recovery, drinking water supply and sanitation, emergency assistance, peacebuilding and social cohesion . It participates in strengthening the resilience of grassroots actors against various forms of threats to peace and security.
As part of the implementation of the Peacebuilding Program in Mali (PCP), funded by The American Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by a consortium, the NGO AMSS is looking for candidates for the recruitment of one (1) community coordinator for the communes of Bourem, Bamba , Tarkint and Soni Ali Ber from the cercle of Bourem in the region of Gao.

1. MISSIONS RELATED TO THE POSITION :
Working under the supervision of the Regional Program Manager (RRP) of the Gao area, the incumbent will perform the following tasks:
Mobilize communities and encourage their active participation in project activities;
Organize consultations with communities in the process of identifying and prioritizing activities based on continuous and transparent dialogue;
Work in close collaboration with the various entities of local authorities and technical sectors for the implementation and monitoring of activities;
Work in frank collaboration with the technical staff of the program;
Identify solutions to the difficulties encountered in the field ;
Ensure regular monitoring of activities in its geographical area of responsibility;
Provide regular activity reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly report) and other reports of training or meetings with the communities;
Organize and information and awareness sessions on peace themes
Any other task that may be requested by the Program teams.
2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:
University degree (minimum BAC + 3) in social sciences, development, law, governance, or any other similar field ;
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in community mobilization, social approach and conflict management ;
Ability to work in a team ;
Good writing, analysis and synthesis skills ;
Ability to adapt to security constraints,
Have a good knowledge of collaborative approaches with community organizations;
Belonging to one of the communities of the municipalities mentioned above is a preponderant asset.
3. DESIRED SKILLS
Be diligent, punctual, proactive and reactive;
Be from the middle and master the Songhai language ; Arabic or Tamasheq is an asset;
In-depth knowledge of administrative structures in Mali ;
Ability to understand and analyze the local and regional political context ;
Ability to complete large volumes of work in a very fast-paced environment;
Strong personal commitment; results oriented; efficient and flexible; respectful of cultural diversity; very detail oriented;
Excellent computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Have a good command of French (oral and written).
